Integrated After School Program

@ OSF Learning Center

Monday - Friday from 2 - 7pm

 

We provide a safe and educational enrichment programs for children during after school hours.  Positive guidance, assistance and encouragement help our students reach their maximum potential.  We believe that all families and individuals can live an active and full life as members in our community regardless of disability.  Thus, with the “whole child" approach, we address equal importance on the spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical development of each unique child.

  • Homework completion and comprehension.

  • Tutoring is available when needed.

  • Arts & Crafts

  • Sports

  • Occupational Therapy

  • Reading & Language

  • Gardening and other activities.

  • Snacks are provided.

Special Needs Enrichment Program

@ OSF Learning Center

Saturdays from 2 - 4pm

  • Students rotate through 4 classes

  • Students are grouped by appropriate ages

  • Each student is paired with a trained one-on-one helper

  • Scholarships are available to needy families

Occupational Therapy: Group or individual activities which provide movement and sensory exploration.  This station helps students to experience:

  • Gross and fine motor skills

  • Eye-hand coordination

  • Motor-planning skills

  • Flexibility

  • Balance

Music and Reading: Group activity which provides music and reading appreciation.  This station helps expose students to:

  • Enjoyable children’s literature.

  • Rhythmic coordination through music

  • Encouraging relaxation, calm, and focus

  • Singing and dancing practice

Computers: Individual PC and special needs learning software.  This class helps students to build:

  • Keyboard and mouse skill

  • Explore Special Needs educational computer programs

  • Enjoy fun computer games

  • Enrich academic exercises in math, reading comprehension, language and social development.

Adaptive PE and Sports: Group or individual playing activities including physical exercise and sports in a beautiful outdoor setting.  This class will help the students learn:

  • Body coordination and exercise

  • Develop various ball skills including basketball, soccer, baseball, badminton

  • Build team concept

  • Basic track & field skill

  • Fun games

  • Dancing and rhythmic movement

Teaches play skills and social skills to kids and adults with special needs in a structured environment and conducted by qualified special needs teachers.

  • Students are grouped by appropriate ages.

  • All special needs students are paired with their typical peers.

  • Emphasizes social skills, play skills, and language development.

  • Fun games and exercise.

Sunday Integrated Child Care

2nd and 3rd Sundays 1 - 5pm

 

Designed and conducted by Early Childhood Specialists, our program has various fun activities including singing, dancing, arts & crafts, computer and exercise.  Snacks are provided.  While you enjoy respite time catching up with shopping, watching movies, visiting friends, or going for a drive along the Pacific coast, you can be sure that your children are in good, loving hands.

 

Who is eligible:  All children are welcome.

 

Where:  6350 Rainbow Drive, San Jose 95129. 

 

When:  Every 2nd and 3rd Sunday of each month from 1 to 5pm

 

How to register:  Please download and fill out the child care registration form and fax to (408)996-0850.  If you have any questions, please call that same number.  RSVP is preferred, but drop-in is available.

Summer Day Camp

4 weeks in July and August.  9am-3pm daily

 

We are committed to providing a safe and secure 4-week summer camp that gives children the opportunity to participate in a variety of specific activities throughout the day.

 

Various facilities include the OSF Learning Center, Memorial Park, Cupertino Sports Center, San Antonio Ranch Park, Blackberry Farm, and YMCA.

 

Activities include computers, hiking, science, swimming, cooking, sports, gardening, and arts & crafts.

Independent Living Skills

@ OSF Learning Center

Saturdays 4:15-7:30pm

 

We provide Independent Living Skills Training for youths (6th grade and up) to prepare for their future independent living arrangements.  This training is geared towards basic independent living skills through several learning components.  Our goal is to enhance their skills and community involvement to create a higher quality of life.  The curricular programs include food purchasing, dinner preparation and cooking, age appropriate social games, sports, community outings, bus riding, shopping, clothes folding and hanging, room cleaning, and more.  We will cook and enjoy dinner together.  The staff to student ratio is 1:2.

Summer Swim Lessons

1 on 1 swim instruction over the summer, by appointment only.

 

AYSO VIP Soccer

Our soccer program is for kids who have special needs. We've adapted  the game (for example we use beeper balls for the visually impaired) so that any child who has mental or physical challenges can play soccer. We provide a safe and fun environment. Every player receives a uniform, pictures, and a trophy.
